1. Scholarship content and standards

Since 2014, Nanjing University of Science and Technology has established the Nanjing Municipal Government - Nanjing University of Science and Technology Joint Scholarship Program. In 2018, 220 scholarship places were provided to encourage and support outstanding international students in China to pursue degrees and study Chinese language preparatory courses at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Scholarship categories are as follows:

3. Scholarship for Chinese Language Preparatory Students (20)

The annual tuition fee will be reduced by 5,000 yuan in one lump sum. Applicants for postgraduate studies taught in Chinese who fail to meet the HSK Chinese proficiency requirements of their major may add one year of Chinese preparatory study at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. During the preparatory period, postgraduate applicants are only eligible for the Chinese Language Student Scholarship, which means a one-time tuition reduction of 5,000 yuan. 3. Applicant Qualifications

1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, in good physical and mental health, and friendly towards China.

2) Educational qualifications and age requirements: Applicants must have obtained the academic qualification and degree certificate of the higher level of the degree they are applying for. In principle, applicants for a doctoral degree should not exceed 40 years old, those for a master's degree should not exceed 35 years old, and those for a bachelor's degree should not exceed 28 years old.

3) Excellent academic performance: The academic performance must be above 80 points on a 100-point scale.

4) Language requirements: For applicants of English-taught scholarships, the IELTS score must be above 6.5 for postgraduate students and above 6.0 for undergraduate students. The new TOEFL score (out of 120) should be above 90 for graduate students and above 80 for undergraduate students. Applicants for the Chinese-taught scholarship must have an HSK score of level 5 or above.

6. Materials required for application

15) A copy of the Physical Examination Form for Foreigners. Click on "Foreigner Physical Examination Form"; to download and fill it out in English. Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" for the examination. The "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" is invalid if there are any missing items, if the applicant's photo is not attached, if the photo is not stamped with a cross-stitch seal, or if it does not have the signatures and seals of the doctor and the hospital. The validity period of the inspection results is six months.
