To support the construction of Confucius Institutes, promote the international dissemination of the Chinese language and the spread of Chinese culture, and cultivate qualified Chinese language teachers and talents, Xi 'an Jiaotong University, authorized by the Headquarters of Confucius Institutes/Office of Chinese Language International Promotion (hereinafter referred to as Hanban), recruits Confucius Institute Scholarship students to fund foreign students, scholars and Chinese language teachers to study at Xi 'an Jiaotong University.

Recipients of funding

1. Non-chinese nationals;

2 Good physical and mental health, excellent in both character and academic performance;

3 Be committed to engaging in Chinese language education, teaching and the international promotion of the Chinese language.

4 The age range is 16 to 35 years old (calculated uniformly as of September 1, 2019). The age limit for in-service Chinese language teachers is relaxed to 45 years old.

Admission categories: One-year trainee, one-semester trainee, four-week trainee.

Admission programs: Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese Language Study, Chinese Language + Chinese Family Experience, Chinese Language + Research on China's Reform and Development, etc.

Funding content and standards: It includes tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses (except for four-week trainees), and comprehensive medical insurance fees.

Application date and method: Starting from March 1st each year, applicants can log in to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website (cis.chinese.cn) to apply for the Confucius Institute Scholarship.
