I. Recipients of Funding

1. Non-chinese nationals.

2 In good physical and mental health, with excellent character and academic performance.

3 Be committed to engaging in Chinese language education, teaching and the promotion of the Chinese language internationally.

4 The age range is 16 to 35 years old (calculated uniformly as of September 1, 2018). The age limit for in-service Chinese language teachers is relaxed to 45 years old, and applicants for undergraduate scholarships generally should not exceed 25 years old.

Ii. Scholarship Categories and Application Requirements

1. Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages

The funding period is two years.

Have a bachelor's degree. The score of the Chinese proficiency test reached 210 points in HSK (Level 5) and 60 points in HSKK (Intermediate). Those who can provide a work agreement or relevant proof from the institution where they plan to teach after graduation will be given priority.

2 Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages

The funding period is four years.

Have a high school diploma. The score of the Chinese proficiency test reached 210 points in HSK (Level 4) and 60 points in HSKK (Intermediate).

3 One-year trainee

The funding period is 11 months. International students in China will not be admitted.

3.1 Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language

The score of the Chinese proficiency test has reached 270 points in HSK (Level 3) and has an HSKK score.

3.2 Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, Chinese Philosophy

The score of the Chinese proficiency test should reach 180 points in HSK (Level 4) and 60 points in HSKK (Intermediate).

3.3 Chinese Language Study

The score of the Chinese proficiency test reaches 180 points in HSK (Level 3).

4 One-semester trainee

The funding period is five months. Those with X1 or X2 visas in their passports will not be admitted.

The score of the Chinese proficiency test reaches 210 points in HSK (Level 3) and has an HSKK score.

5 Four-week trainee

The funding period is four weeks. Those with X1 or X2 visas in their passports will not be admitted.

Iii. Application Process

Applicants can log in to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website (cis.chinese.cn) to apply for the Confucius Institute Scholarship.

Log in to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website to check the recommending institutions and receiving universities. Submit application materials online, keep an eye on the application process, review opinions and scholarship evaluation results. Scholarship recipients confirm with the receiving institutions the procedures for studying in China and print the award certificates online. Report for registration at the receiving institution within the time specified in the admission notice.

Iv. Regarding the winners of the Chinese Bridge Award

Those who have received the "Confucius Institute Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Bridge competitions should log in to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website and submit the application materials to the target receiving institution with the scholarship certificate.

V. Others

1. For the relevant professional training programs and teaching courses, you can consult the target receiving institution.

2 Applicants must understand the specific admission requirements and application deadlines of the target receiving institutions, and submit application materials in accordance with relevant regulations.

3 Degree students must participate in the annual review. For details, please refer to the "Annual Review Method for Confucius Institute Scholarships".

4 Students who fail to report on time, fail the physical examination upon admission, withdraw from school halfway, or take a leave of absence will have their scholarship eligibility revoked.
