I. General Provisions

(1) This regulation is formulated to standardize the management of scholarships for international students in China and to give full play to the benefits and roles of the scholarships.

(2) The subjects to whom this regulation applies: self-funded undergraduate students, self-funded master's students and self-funded doctoral students who have completed one academic year of study at Jiangnan University.

Ii. Scholarship Levels and Amounts

First-class Scholarship: 12,000 RMB

2. Second-class Scholarship: 8,000 RMB

Third-class Scholarship: 5,000 RMB

Iii. Awarding Conditions

(1) Be able to abide by the laws of the country and all the rules and regulations of the school.

(2) Actively participate in various social public welfare activities, love the group and care about others.

(3) Diligent in study, with no failed subjects in the courses taken within one year, and ranking among the top in academic performance among international students. The average grade serves as a reference standard for evaluating scholarships. When implemented specifically, it can be balanced according to the characteristics of the discipline.

Undergraduate students

(1) If the average score of the academic year reaches 80 points, one can apply for the third-class scholarship.

(2) If the average score of the academic year reaches 85 points, one can apply for the second-class scholarship.

(3) If the average score of the academic year reaches 90 points, one can apply for the first-class scholarship.

2. Master's degree candidates

(1) If the average score of the academic year reaches 90 points, one can apply for the third-class scholarship.

(2) Those who have published two academic papers of certain quality in domestic or foreign journals, or whose one paper has been indexed by the three major retrieval systems, are eligible to apply for the second-class scholarship.

(3) Those whose two papers have been indexed by the three major retrieval systems, or whose dissertations have been rated as excellent in the "blind review", are eligible to apply for the first-class scholarship.

3. Doctoral students

(1) If the average score of the academic year reaches 90 points, one can apply for the third-class scholarship.

(2) Those who have published two high-quality academic papers in core domestic or international journals, or whose one paper has been indexed by the three major retrieval systems, are eligible to apply for the second-class scholarship.

(3) Those whose two papers have been indexed by the three major retrieval systems, or whose dissertations have been rated as excellent in the "blind review", are eligible to apply for the first-class scholarship.

Iv. Scholarship Application

(1) International students in China can directly obtain the "Jiangnan University Taihu Scholarship Application Form" (hereinafter referred to as the Application Form) from the School of International Education, or download the application form from the School of International Education's website and fill it out truthfully as required.

(2) The applicant's college or supervisor shall sign their opinion on the application form submitted by the applicant, and the applicant shall then submit the application form to the International Education College.

(3) Application deadline: September 15th each year

V. Scholarship Evaluation

(1) The International Education College's International student management department reviews the application forms and related materials, and formulates a suggested list of awardees based on the award evaluation criteria.

(2) The list of scholarship recipients will be discussed and determined by the International Student Scholarship Review Committee, and then submitted to the vice president in charge for approval.

(3) Review period: September 16th to 25th each year.

(4) Announcement Method: The review results will be posted on the bulletin board of the International Education College, and the scholarship recipients will be notified. They will also be commended at a public meeting.

Vi. Distribution of Scholarships

(1) The School of International Education awards scholarships to the recipients. The scholarship will be disbursed on a monthly basis starting from the date of approval.

(2) Scholarships for graduates will be issued until half a month after the date of graduation.

(3) For those who suspend their studies, withdraw from school or return to China after graduation, the scholarship will be suspended from next month.

(4) Scholarships will be issued as usual during the holidays stipulated by the school.

(5) If a scholarship student fails to register at school on time without asking for leave, leaves school for non-health reasons, or is absent from classes for more than ten days, the scholarship for the current month will be suspended.

(6) Scholarship students who need to take a leave of absence due to serious illness should return to China for recuperation and bear the travel expenses themselves. Students who have been approved by the International Education College to take a leave of absence can retain their scholarship eligibility for up to one year, but the scholarship will be suspended during the leave period. Scholarship students who take a leave of absence for other reasons will have their scholarships cancelled.

(7) Those who are given a disciplinary sanction of retention for inspection or above due to violation of school discipline will have their eligibility for scholarships revoked. Those whose scholarship eligibility is revoked will have their scholarships suspended from the date of announcement.

Vii. International Student Scholarship Review Committee

(1) The International Student Scholarship Review Committee is established by the School of International Education. Its members include the vice dean in charge of international student affairs of the School of International Education, relevant experts, mentors and management personnel.

(II) Responsibilities of the International Student Scholarship Review Committee:

1. Review and determine the list of scholarship recipients.

2. Handle disputes in the awarding process, accept appeals and organize reconsideration.

3. Explain and revise the scholarship management measures.

(3) The daily work of the International Student Scholarship Review Committee is undertaken by the School of International Education.

Viii. Number of Award-winning Students

The number of first prize winners shall not exceed 4% of the total number of international students in this category.

The number of second prize winners shall not exceed 10% of the total number of international students in this category.

The number of third prize winners shall not exceed 15% to 20% of the total number of international students in this category.

Ix. The final interpretation right of this regulation belongs to the School of International Education.
