I. General Provisions

(1) This regulation is formulated to standardize the management of scholarships for international students in China and to give full play to the benefits and roles of the scholarships.

(2) This regulation applies to: public-funded doctoral students, public-funded master's students, public-funded undergraduate students and Chinese language students who have completed one academic year of study at Jiangnan University.

Ii. Types and Amounts of Scholarships

(1) Doctoral students

The first prize is 3,000 yuan

The second prize is 2,500 yuan

The third prize is 2,000 yuan

(2) Master's degree candidates

The first prize is 2,000 yuan

The second prize is 1,500 yuan

The third prize is 1,000 yuan

(3) Undergraduates

The first prize is 1,000 yuan

The second prize is 800 yuan

The third prize is 600 yuan

(4) Chinese Language students (top three in HSK score above Level 6)

The first prize is 600 yuan

The second prize is 500 yuan

The third prize is 400 yuan

Iii. Awarding Conditions

(1) Be able to abide by Chinese laws and all the rules and regulations of the school.

(2) Actively participate in various social public welfare activities, love the collective and care for others.

(3) Study hard, achieve excellent grades, and have outstanding performance in a certain aspect.

(4) The evaluation criteria for various types of students are as follows:

Doctoral student

(1) Those who study diligently, achieve excellent grades, have a spirit of hard work and research in their work, can make innovations and achieve good results, and are relatively satisfied with their supervisors;

(2) Those who have published high-quality academic papers in core domestic and international journals and have been indexed by the three major retrieval systems will be given priority (copies of the articles and original relevant certificates must be provided).

2. Master's degree candidate

(1) Those who study diligently, achieve excellent grades, have a spirit of hard work and research in their work, can make innovations and achieve good results, and are relatively satisfied with their supervisors;

(2) Those who have published academic papers of certain quality in domestic and international journals or presented them at professional academic conferences, and have been confirmed by two professors of the same major.

3. Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate international students who study in regular classes have no failed subjects within one academic year, and their average annual grades of the courses they take are good or above, and they rank among the top in terms of academic performance among international students.

4. Chinese Language students

Those who have mastered the basic knowledge of Chinese well through a certain number of class hours of Chinese study and achieved good results in the HSK exam.

Iv. Scholarship Application

(1) International students in China can directly obtain the "Jiangnan University President's Scholarship Application Form" (hereinafter referred to as the Application Form) from the School of International Education, or download the application form from the School of International Education's website and fill it out truthfully as required.

(2) The applicant's college or supervisor shall sign their opinion on the application form submitted by the applicant, and the applicant shall then submit the application form to the International Education College.

(3) Application deadline: September 15th each year

V. Scholarship Evaluation

(1) The International Education College reviews the application forms and related materials, and formulates a suggested list of awardees based on the award evaluation criteria.

(2) The list of scholarship recipients will be discussed and determined by the International Student Scholarship Review Committee, and then submitted to the vice president in charge for approval.

(3) Review period: September 16th to 25th each year

(4) Announcement Method: The review results will be posted on the bulletin board of the International Education College, and the scholarship recipients will be notified. They will also be commended at a public meeting.

Vi. Distribution of Scholarships

The International Education College will issue a one-time scholarship to the recipients before the end of September each year.

Vii. International Student Scholarship Review Committee

(1) The International Student Scholarship Review Committee is established by the School of International Education. Its members include the vice dean in charge of international student affairs of the School of International Education, relevant experts, mentors and management personnel.

(II) Responsibilities of the International Student Scholarship Review Committee:

1. Review and determine the list of scholarship recipients.

2. Handle disputes in the awarding process, accept appeals and organize reconsideration.

3. Explain and revise the scholarship management measures.

(3) The daily work of the International Student Scholarship Review Committee is undertaken by the School of International Education.

Viii. Number of Award-winning Students

The number of first prize winners shall not exceed 4% of the total number of international students in this category.

The number of second prize winners shall not exceed 10% of the total number of international students in this category.

The number of third prize and above winners shall not exceed 20% of the total number of international students in this category.

Ix. The final interpretation right of this regulation belongs to the School of International Education.
