Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by the renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. It is the first university established by overseas Chinese in modern Chinese educational history. Xiamen University enjoys the geographical advantage of being close to overseas Chinese, Taiwan and the sea, as well as an irreplaceable cultural advantage. It has become a major center for educational and cultural exchanges among countries along the Maritime Silk Road. Xiamen University was selected as a "World-Class University and First-Class Discipline" (referred to as "Double First-Class") construction university in 2017. I. Introduction to Scholarships
To better promote the great achievements of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, who is known as the "Banner of Overseas Chinese and the glory of the nation", carry forward and promote the spirit of Tan Kah Kee, and attract and encourage more outstanding overseas Chinese students and descendants of Jimei alumni from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to study and further their education in Xiamen, the Tan Kah Kee Education Foundation of Xiamen has specially established the "Tan Kah Kee Scholarship". Our school is one of the recruiting institutions for this scholarship program.
Ii. Application Requirements
Chinese nationals holding valid ordinary passports from countries along the "Maritime Silk Road" mainly include those from Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, North Africa and Europe. Good health.
Note Residents of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who come to China as foreign students to pursue a bachelor's degree after immigrating abroad must hold a valid foreign passport for four years (inclusive) or more, and have a record of actually residing abroad for more than two years within the last four years (up to April 30, 2018). (Actually residing abroad for nine months in a year can be counted as one year.) Subject to the entry and exit signatures and seals.
2. Support "One China", be friendly to the ancestral country, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government.
3. Educational qualifications and age requirements for applicants:
Students applying for a bachelor's degree must have obtained a high school diploma or above and be no older than 30 years old in principle.
(2) Students applying for a master's degree must have obtained a bachelor's degree or above and be no older than 35 years old in principle.
(3) Students applying for a doctoral degree must have obtained a master's degree or above and be no older than 40 years old in principle.
Applicants who have already received other scholarships or grants are not eligible for the Tan Kah Kee Scholarship.

2. The online application: applicants login "xiamen university international student online registration system" (http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn/application/) to complete online registration after the net and download the print to automatically generate the xiamen university international students admission application form. The registration fee is 400 RMB, which should be paid during online registration and is non-refundable.
3. Mail the scholarship application materials

V. Scholarship Quotas and Funding Contents
Scholarship support quota: Undergraduate students: 30; Master's degree students: 30 to 35; Doctoral students: 3 to 5. The final number of scholarship recipients will be adjusted by the Tan Kah Kee Scholarship Work Leading Group based on the actual application situation.
2. Scholarship coverage: It includes tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses and insurance fees. The specific quota standards are as follows

Vi. Scholarship Review The selection of scholarships follows the principles of openness, fairness, impartiality and merit. Our school will select the scholarship candidates based on the applicants' academic performance, language proficiency, academic ability, supervisor opinions, recommendation letters and overall quality, and submit them to the Tan Kah Kee Education Foundation for centralized evaluation in mid-June. After the evaluation, the final list of scholarship recipients will be determined by the Tan Kah Kee Scholarship Work Leading Group. The results of the scholarship awards will be notified to the winning students by our school.
Vii. Annual Assessment and Management of Award-winning Students
Our school will conduct an annual assessment of the performance of scholarship recipients during their study period. Those who pass the assessment will continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next academic year; otherwise, their qualifications will be revoked.
Students who have won awards are, in principle, not allowed to change their school, major or extend their study period after coming to Xiamen for study. In case of special circumstances where it is necessary to change the major, transfer to another school or extend the study period, the application must be approved by the school. The school then submits an application to the foundation. Only after approval by the foundation can the change, transfer or extension of the study period be made. Students who change their major, transfer schools or extend their study period without approval, as well as those who drop out or take a leave of absence halfway, will have their scholarship eligibility revoked.
