I. Introduction to Scholarships
Xiamen University established the "International Freshman Scholarship" in 2006. Every year, several outstanding undergraduate, master's and doctoral students are selected from the applicants and awarded free tuition (4 years for doctoral students, 2 or 3 years for master's students, and 4 or 5 years for undergraduate students). Additionally, outstanding international master's and doctoral students are provided with monthly living expenses in accordance with the standards of the Chinese Government Scholarship. Our school will conduct annual evaluations based on the performance of the awardees during their studies. Only those who meet the requirements can continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next academic year.
Ii. Applicant Qualifications
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
2 The educational qualifications and age requirements for the applicant:
① Undergraduate: Recent high school graduates, with a high school diploma or above, and no older than the required age 25 One year old;
② Master's Degree: Fresh graduates with a bachelor's degree or above, no more than 40 years old.
③ Doctor: Recent master's graduates, with a master's degree or above, and no more than 45 years old.

To promote the internationalization process of our university's education, we offer a wide range of undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs taught in English, aiming to cultivate high-level international talents who not only have a solid professional foundation but also understand Chinese society and culture. 2. Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs taught in Chinese

Iv. Scholarship Duration
Undergraduate students: The duration of study is 4 or 5 academic years, and the scholarship period is 4 or 5 academic years.
Master's degree candidates: The duration of study is 2 or 3 academic years, and the scholarship period is 2 or 3 academic years.
Doctoral students: The academic system is 4 years, and the scholarship period is also 4 years.
V. Scholarship Quotas: 24 (including 8 doctoral students, 11 master's students, and 5 undergraduate students)
Vi. Scholarship Content
Doctoral students and master's students are awarded first-class and second-class scholarships respectively, while undergraduate students are not awarded a first-class scholarship. The first-class doctoral and master's scholarships not only cover tuition fees (4 years for doctoral students and 2 or 3 years for master's students), but also provide monthly living expenses in accordance with the standards of the Chinese Government Scholarship (3,500 RMB per month for doctoral students and 3,000 RMB per month for master's students). The second-class scholarship offers a waiver of tuition fees (4 years for doctoral students, 2 or 3 years for master's students, and 4 or 5 years for undergraduate students). Our school will conduct an annual assessment of scholarship recipients in accordance with the evaluation methods of the Chinese Government Scholarship. Those who meet the requirements can continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next academic year; otherwise, their qualifications will be cancelled.

Viii. Application Procedure
Applicants for the "Xiamen University International Freshman Scholarship" must have applied for and been admitted to the relevant major of our university before they are eligible to participate in the scholarship selection.
Applicants who meet the requirements should fill out the "Xiamen University International Student Freshman Scholarship Application Form".
2. The online application: applicants login "xiamen university international student online registration system" (http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn/application/) to complete online registration after the net and download the print to automatically generate the xiamen university international students admission application form.
3. Submission of Application Materials: Please send the application materials for our university as required in the "Xiamen University 2018 International Student Undergraduate/Master's/Doctoral Admissions Brochure" along with the "Xiamen University International Student Freshman Scholarship Application Form" and the "Xiamen University International Student Admission Application Form" to the Admissions Office of Xiamen University before the above-mentioned deadline. If the application materials are sent from within China, it is recommended to use China Post EMS to ensure that the materials are delivered to our school in a timely and accurate manner. Ix. Selection Procedures and Announcement of Results
Undergraduate applicants who hold SAT scores, IB diplomas, GCE A-level scores, or UEC scores with outstanding grades, as well as graduate applicants who have graduated from world-renowned universities, come from our exchange institutions, or have been recommended by senior professors (experts), will be given priority. Our school will organize experts to comprehensively consider the applicants' academic performance, language proficiency, academic ability, research achievements and the opinions of their supervisors, and select scholarship candidates from among the applicants to report to the school leaders for approval.
The scholarship results are expected to be determined in mid-June 2018 and announced on our university's international student admissions website. Subsequently, our school will notify the scholarship recipients via email and send them the "Admission Notice" and the "Visa Application Form for Foreign Students to Study in China" (JW202 Form) as soon as possible.
