The 7th Job Fair for International Students in China was successfully held in Beijing

In order to support the national "Belt and Road Initiative", meet the international talent demands of employers, and facilitate the internships, employment and entrepreneurship of foreign students, the Ministry of Education's China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange is the organizer. The 7th Job Fair for International Students in China, co-organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Peking University and the Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Haidian District, was successfully held in Beijing on October 26, 2019. During the exhibition, Wu Zhipan, the deputy director of the University Council of Peking University, Huang Kan, the deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and Yang Ling, the deputy director of the Ministry of Education's China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, visited the exhibition and provided on-site guidance.

More than 40 well-known enterprises and institutions, including China Power Construction Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, Huawei Technologies Co., LTD., Beijing ByteDance Technology Co., LTD., and Tongfang Vision Technology Co., LTD., participated in this job fair, offering nearly 1,000 positions covering multiple industry sectors such as engineering, technology, energy, education consulting, financial services, new media, and medicine.

On the day of the job fair, nearly 3,000 foreign students from over 30 renowned domestic universities and research institutions, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Nankai University and Northeastern University, participated in the job application. The international students attending the conference come from nearly a hundred countries including the United States, Russia, Pakistan, Thailand, India, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Kazakhstan and South Africa.

Since the launch of digital service construction in January 2018, our center has gradually achieved the integration of multiple business "Internet + Study Abroad Service" platforms, including overseas academic degree certification, government-sponsored overseas study, study abroad archiving, and employment upon return to China, enabling overseas students to enjoy study abroad services without leaving their homes. This year's job fair for international students in China has for the first time attempted to release job information from enterprises and have students register and sign up online through a microsite. By doing more of the information, the service recipients can travel less. On the one hand, it has enhanced the dissemination power of job information from participating enterprises and the standardization of student registration and application, allowing a large number of international students in China to enjoy more convenient online services in a more open and inclusive environment. On the other hand, it has also made considerable progress in achieving the goals of energy conservation and emission reduction and holding green job fairs.

An online registration platform for job fairs and the release of job information

Since 2016, the Ministry of Education's China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange has held seven (eight) job fairs for international students in China, gathering nearly 300 well-known enterprises and institutions to participate. These fairs have attracted over 23,000 foreign students and designed more than 4,000 job positions. The successful holding of the job fair for international students in China has, on the one hand, facilitated the internships, employment and entrepreneurship of foreign students, improved the service system for international students in China, and enhanced the appeal of "Studying in China" and the soft power of Chinese education. On the other hand, in line with the national "Belt and Road" initiative and talent work plans, it has enhanced China's international talent competitiveness, providing Chinese enterprises with international talents who not only understand Chinese culture and language but also possess professional qualities. At the same time, it has also contributed Chinese wisdom to China's participation in global economic integration.
